Cloverfield - Woth all the Hype?

Cloverfield:

4/5

Five young New Yorkers throw ther friend a going-away party the night that an uncertain desaster descends upon the city. Told from the point of view of theirvideo camera, the film is a documentation of their attempt to survive the mostsurreal, horrifying event of their lives.

A very Controversial movie that is either loved or hated by the viewer. Many people have become obsessed by this movie or have been given a case of euphoria due to the motion of the camera. The film has a very unique and creative style that I have never seen before. The entire movie was filmed as though from a hand held digital camera which at times was slightly annoying and didnt give you a very good idea of what was going on, also gave you an intense feel that you where in the movie with the characters.

I gave this movie 4/5 because the plot was great, and the style was very creative, but the movie was a little short and inconclusive and the camera was somtimes annoying.

Juno - A “Feel Good” Movie about Teen Pregnancy

Juno Movie Poster

Juno

9.5/10

When a teenage girl is faced with an unexpected pregnancy, she enlists the aid of her best friend in finding the unborn child a suitable home.
Juno was a great movie that was able to capture my attention from the first scene to the last. Juno had a very creative indie feel to it not only showed in the acting, but also in the direction and in the soundtrack, featuring music from unknown indie bands like The Moldy Peaches.
Despite the several big names included in the cast such as Jennifer Garner (Vanessa Loring), and Jason Bateman (Mark Loring), the majority of the film’s acting talent came from Young Actor Ellen Page (Juno).
Although the script and direction of the movie where very good, the movie was completely made by its main actor (Page), without whom, the movie would have not had nearly the same feel and effect, and it is no wonder that the young actor was nominated for several awards.
Juno earned Won an Oscar for Best Origional Screenplay and recieved nominations for Best Picture, Best Actress, and Best Director.
