ROCK BAND!
The ultimate party-gaming experience that anybody can get into, and will get into, for hours at a time. There isn’t another video game on the face of the earth where anybody can play it with friends for 4 hours straight and not look like a social outcast. It has the play feel and entertainment of guitar hero with Drums, another guitar, and a microphone thrown in so you and 3 friends can play together and feel what it feels to be a real rock band (actual talent not required).

The Good:
Virtually endless amount of gameplay, as you can play each song on 4 different instruments, and you can download new songs or entire albums from your favorite bands. Harmonix plans on, instead of releasing a new game every year (like Rockband, Rockband II, Rockband III etc.) they will just release new songs all the time so you can just keep updating your song list and never get bored of playing.

Every instrument is entertaining to play. When I first bought the game I figured nobody would be down for singing and it would always be a 3 man show, but I quickly found out that the singing in the game is alot more fun than it seems. Also each instrument plays its own part so if the any of the instruments are falling behind it can be heard and you can tell how each member is doing.

If a band member fails, another member can use “overdrive” (much like “star power” in the guitar hero series) to revive them, and while you are in overdrive mode you can hit more series of white notes to “earn while you burn” so you can keep overdrive going for longer.

If you have nobdoy to play along with you can go online and join in bands online and play along with them.

You can use Guitar Hero guitars to play on Rock Band

The Bad:
The game only comes with one guitar so you have to buy another one to play as a full band (unless you own guitar hero, in which case those guitars can be used).

Although the Rock Band look alot more flashy and have more features than the Guitar hero guitars, they unfortunately dont work nearly as well as the Guitar Hero ones. The difference is hard to explain but basically the guitar hero guitars are more simple and accurate.

Rock band guitars cant be used on Guitar Hero (but guitar hero guitars can be used on rockband…strange?)

The guitar parts on Rockband arent as fun as Guitar Hero’s. Although fun, once you get to expert difficulty the guitar parts on rockbad are still fun, but start to get pretty bland compared to Rock Band.
